Posted by Sister Edith on 18 February 2008

This docudrama explores the thinking and background of the executives of the Enron Corporation – and the motives and ideas that generated first huge wealth and then a terrible collapse.  Interesting in itself, it is also an excellent study in the means (and weaknesses) of social control mechanisms (as in Chapter 8).

This example focuses on the topic of peer groups.

It names types of groups but does not define them.

It explores the experience of receiving pressure, but does not make the typologies as clear as other examples.

It does use a research report at the end, to draw its material together.
